Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

High quality early childhood education in a Christian environment

Children

We believe that all children are important members of the world and a precious gift from God. We recognise that each child is a unique individual and that the early years of their life are vital for their growth and development. Therefore we seek to support each child on their learning journey taking the time to provide a supportive, caring environment which caters for individual interests, strengths and developmental stages of each child.

Families

Families

Mustard Seed recognises God’s gift of a family, which plays the most important role in a child’s development as their first teachers. We endeavour to work closely with families throughout their time at our service to ensure the best start for each child.

Relationships

Relationships are vital to support each child in their development. Our services seek to support children as they develop strong, positive, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families, teachers, our community, the world and most importantly with God through his son Jesus Christ. Children are taught and encouraged to learn how to interact collaboratively as they learn empathy, respect and compassion for others.

The Program

The Program

Mustard Seed Christian Childcare adheres to the National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework, Law and Regulations to create our program. Our program is designed to support your child on their learning journey and takes into account their individual needs. A wholistic approach is taken as we support their learning. Our services believe that learning should be fun, facilitate a sense of wonder and encourage life-long learning. Educators promote self-expression, exploration, experimentation, creativity, imagination, critical thinking, problem solving and self-regulation. Each skill is taught through our play-based program and provides opportunities for children to learn new skills and master existing skills.

Professionalism

All of our teams adhere to the early childhood code of ethics and code of conduct. Each team member is supported in their professional development and encouraged to take time each year to complete additional courses as we seek to improve our practices further. Mustard Seed Christian Childcare believes in the importance of providing above award ratios to ensure all children and teachers are supported.

Community

Community

A local community plays an integral role in the lives of children. At our services we aim to make ourselves known in the community by participating in regular visits and events, and by supporting others in the community. Mustard Seed Christian Childcare services have the privilege of working closely with a local church as we partner in reaching, supporting, and growing the children and families in the local area.
